The mission of the 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties is to support and honor the brave men and women who provide essential emergency services to our communities-- our firefighters, police officers and emergency medical services personnel. In the course of performing their duties these individuals often place themselves at great risk to ensure that we are safe, secure and comfortable when our peace, safety or health is threatened. The manner in which the 200 Club carries out its mission is to provide financial assistance and support to the families who have suffered the tragic loss of a loved one while in the line ofduty. As a not-for-profit organization, we rely upon the financial support of local businesses and individuals to honor the memories of these lost heroes and provide much needed support to the loved one they leave behind.
The year 2010 brings with it some exciting news for 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. We are very pleased to announce that our 25th Annual Mass and Brunch will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010, once again at The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. In addition, it is with great excitement that we announce that our guest speaker will be Kirk Clark, Sr. Mr. Clark is a retired Jacksonville, Florida Police Officer who was severely wounded in a shooting while working on an undercover narcotics investigation. Mr. Clark brings the message of his survival of a truly horrific event which resulted in the death of his partner and will provide an uplifting testimony of his recovery and how he has moved forward to help others through his work with the "Concerns of Police Survivors" organization. If you enjoyed hearing Louisiana State Trooper Bobby Smith, our 2004 guest speaker, you will love Kirk Clark!
Please come out to honor our fallen heroes, experience an outstanding speaker and enjoy a very fine brunch. This promises to be an outstanding event. All of the details can be found within our website.
Your participation in our Annual Brunch is important as it is our primary fundraiser and also a means for us to publicly demonstrate our support for both the families of our fallen heroes, as well as our solidarity with those active public safety officers who serve us each day. The tragic loss of Atlantic City Police Officer Kevin Wilkins is a solemn reminder of how swiftly the dangers to public safety officers can arise, creating a necessity for assistance. Just as our public safety officers are there for us on a moment's notice, we too need to be prepared if our support is necessitated.
Your membership in the 200 Club and participation in our Annual Brunch brings honor to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and helps support the families left behind. Help us to help these families by giving them both financial assistance and a well deserved heartfelt acknowledgment of the sacrifice made by their family member. Please share our cause with others and encourage membership as we must always stand ready to assist.
On behalf of the 200 Club and the families we assist, I thank you for your generosity.
Warm Regards,
Joseph A. Corbo, Jr.
