Firefighter John Seedorf Atlantic City Fire Department April 9, 1979 Seedorf was only 30 years old when he was killed April 9, 1979, while fighting a fire at a vacant office on Elberon Avenue. The street's beach block was named in honor of Seedorf in 1999. The fire station at California and Atlantic avenues, which bears John A. Seedorf's name, was rededicated to him on January 26, 2006.
