Sergeant Richard Himber Margate City Police Department November 16, 1975 Police Sergeant Rich Himber, 32, an eleven-year veteran of the force, was promoted just three days before he was fatally injured in an automobile accident early on a Sunday morning. He and his partner, in their marked patrol car, were in the midst of a high-speed chase with a motorcycle when the tragic accident occurred on Ventnor Avenue in Atlantic City. His partner was seriously injured. Sgt. Himber previously served as a detective before returning to patrol duties following his promotion. He left behind his wife, Donna, and a young daughter. Close Window
